Bentham Town Council is pleased to invite applications for its 2027–2028 Community Grants Programme.
Each year the Council provides grants to not-for-profit organisations, charities and community groups delivering projects that make a positive difference to residents of the Parish of Bentham.
Who Can Apply?
- Registered charities, voluntary organisations and community groups operating on a not-for-profit basis.
- Projects must clearly benefit residents of the Parish of Bentham.
- Limited companies and profit-distributing organisations are not eligible.
Key Dates
- Applications open: beginning of August 2026
- Closing date: Friday 30th October 2026 at 4:00pm.
- Applications considered: November 2026 Precept Meeting
- Grants presented: Annual Parish Meeting (April 2027)
- Payments authorised: May 2027
What’s Changed for 2027–2028?
- Priority will be given to funding specific community projects rather than ongoing running costs.
- The Council does not normally fund salaries or wages.
- Projects over £500 may require up to 50% matched funding.
- Grants will normally be paid in arrears on receipt of appropriate invoices, receipts or written quotations.
- Grants over £500 may be paid in two instalments (May and October).
- Successful organisations will be required to submit a report outlining how the grant benefited Bentham residents.
- The Council reserves the right to reclaim or withhold funding where grant conditions are not met.
Application forms will be available on the Council website and will be sent directly to community groups held on the data base.
