The Bentham Community Emergency Plan provides a single, locally tailored source of information to help the community prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies in Bentham.
The plan brings together local knowledge, resources and contacts to support residents and assist emergency services during incidents. Its aim is to ensure the community has the skills, structure and confidence to look after one another when it matters most.
Developed in line with guidance from the North Yorkshire Local Resilience Forum under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, the plan outlines:
- Local risks and how they are managed;
- Key contacts and emergency roles;
- Community resources and vulnerable groups;
- Rest centre arrangements;
- Communication methods during incidents.
The plan is maintained and reviewed regularly to ensure it remains accurate and effective.
In an emergency, always call 999 first.
