Bygone Bentham
The Bygone Bentham heritage trail is getting a refresh, with the existing plaques across High and Low Bentham being updated and replaced with new, clearer displays.
Thanks to funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the 17 plaques are being renewed to help preserve and share Bentham’s fascinating local history for residents and visitors alike.
Each plaque features historic photographs and information about the location, offering a glimpse into how Bentham looked in years gone by. Visitors can compare the historic images with the same streets, buildings and landscapes as they appear today.
The updated plaques will make the trail easier to read and enjoy, while ensuring that these stories and photographs remain accessible for future generations.
Keep an eye out as the new plaques are installed across High and Low Bentham, and why not follow the trail and discover Bentham’s history for yourself?
